Acoustic comfort

Start by listening to the problem.

Voices through a wall, noise from above or sound reverberating inside a room. Each situation needs a different assessment to identify a useful intervention.

Insulation and room treatment are different tasks

Sound insulation aims to reduce transmission between spaces. Acoustic treatment addresses how sound behaves inside a room. We clarify the problem and the desired improvement before proposing a system.

Noise has routes

A wall may be only part of the path. Ceilings, floors, openings and junctions also play a role. Technical review helps determine whether a local intervention makes sense or a broader solution needs considering.

A proposal without improvised figures

The configuration, installation and building affect the result. A system’s laboratory test figure does not by itself describe what will happen in a room. A specific acoustic objective requires considering which specialist assessment or measurement is needed and which elements it should review.

  • The type of noise and when it occurs.
  • The area it appears to come from.
  • The rooms where it is most noticeable.
  • Elements shared by the affected spaces.
