Understand the substrate
The wall condition, unevenness and junctions with the floor and ceiling help guide the solution. If damp or deterioration is present, its cause needs investigating before covering the substrate.
Allow the necessary space
The final thickness affects usable floor area, skirting boards, openings and electrical fittings. Direct and framed linings occupy and address the space differently. A photograph helps explain the setting, while measurements and technical review define the proposal.
Define what it will achieve
Not every lining is intended to provide insulation. The quote should state whether the aim is to cover a wall, integrate elements or contribute to an acoustic or thermal solution, with the proposed materials and junctions.

- The reason for the work.
- Space that can be used.
- Existing sockets, radiators, windows and loads.
