Keep the construction information

Retain installation photographs if available, drawings, system identification and information about the finish. Knowing service routes and reinforcement positions helps with future decisions. If you do not have these records, avoid assuming how the visible surface has been built.

Clean according to the visible finish

The visible layer may be paint, wallpaper or another finish. Its instructions guide cleaning and compatible products. Avoid soaking the surface or applying treatments without knowing the finish. With a persistent stain, establish its cause before attempting to conceal it.

Record impacts and cracks

Photograph the whole area and a close detail with a size reference. Note when the damage appeared and whether it has changed. A surface mark and a recurring crack can call for different responses; understanding the cause helps choose between touching up, repairing an area or reviewing a junction.

Investigate moisture before repairing

Explain whether a stain follows rain, use of a service or temperature changes. A surface repair does not replace correction of water ingress or a leak. Assess exposure and the condition of the assembly, coordinating any necessary work before closing it again.

New loads and changes of use

Before adding suspended furniture, equipment or a door, collect its specifications and information about the substrate. Do not infer capacity from appearance. Fixings may need verification or reinforcement; changes to a system with special performance requirements also need a compatibility review.

Prepare a repair enquiry

Send the town, photographs, approximate dimensions and an explanation of what happened. Include earlier documents if available and describe the finish you want restored. We will assess a feasible scope and identify issues needing inspection or work by other trades before preparing a proposal.

Sources and technical documentation

Manufacturer references consulted on 14 October 2026. Selection and performance are confirmed against the current documentation for the system proposed for each project.
